What's on the card

A young man stands on high ground and fends off six wands rising from below with his own. He wears mismatched shoes, as if he got dressed in a hurry.

Seven of Wands upright

The Seven of Wands is about having to defend the place you've earned. Competitors, critics or simply a lot of questions press from below, but you hold the higher ground. The card backs firmness when you're sure of the substance. If your idea gets attacked from all sides in a review, answer the main objection with facts and don't waste energy on the small ones.

Seven of Wands reversed

Defending every front is exhausting, and your strength drains away. Sometimes it's easier to give way on small points than to hold every one. Pick the one position that truly matters and let the rest go.

Seven of Wands in love and relationships

A couple may need to protect the relationship from other people's opinions: relatives, friends, advisers. Agree between yourselves that decisions are made by the two of you. Someone single should keep their boundaries and not bend to others' expectations.

Seven of Wands in career and money

Competition is growing, and others want your role or project. Keep numbers and examples that show your contribution close at hand. If the arguments are piling up, talk to your manager about where you need support.

Seven of Wands: yes or no

Yes Yes, if you hold your ground. Explain your position calmly once and don't give in on the main point.

Reversed. No Not now: defending every front is exhausting. Pick the one position that matters and let the rest go.

Ask a yes or no question

Seven of Wands as your card of the day

Today you may have to stand up for your view or your place. Prepare two arguments in advance and speak calmly: firmness without shouting persuades better.

Reversed. You're defending yourself on every side, and your energy is running out. You don't have to win every argument. Choose one position worth holding and let the rest go.

A question for the evening: Where was it worth standing my ground today?
