What's on the card

A blindfolded woman in white sits on a stone bench with her back to the sea, holding two heavy swords with her arms crossed over her chest. Behind her are rocks in the water and a thin crescent moon.

Two of Swords upright

The Two of Swords is about a balance kept by refusing to look. Both options seem equally hard, so the decision gets put off for fear of getting it wrong. The pause buys breathing room, but not for long: arms get tired of holding swords. If an offer for a new role has sat unanswered for three weeks, set a date to decide and find out what information you're missing.

Two of Swords reversed

The stalemate is shifting: new information or someone's pressure makes you take off the blindfold. Sometimes there's suddenly too much information, and the choice feels impossible again. Pick the one criterion that matters most to you and compare the options on that alone.

Two of Swords in love and relationships

A couple may both avoid a hard topic to keep the peace, while tension builds under the quiet. Name the topic out loud and agree on when to discuss it. If you're single, it can mean wavering between two people, or between wanting closeness and fearing to open up.

Two of Swords in career and money

A choice between two offers, projects or approaches has stalled. Compare them in writing by money and by the time each will take. If the decision depends on someone else, ask them one direct question instead of guessing.

Two of Swords: yes or no

Maybe Not clear yet: the choice is stuck between two options. List the pros and cons of each and ask an outsider's opinion.

Reversed. Maybe The deadlock is easing, but facts are missing. Find out one missing detail before you decide.

Ask a yes or no question

Two of Swords as your card of the day

A decision is on hold because both options look hard. An honest look will make the choice easier. List the pros and cons of each option and set a date to decide by.

Reversed. Putting it off is now harder than choosing. You already know enough. Make one small decision on it today, even if it's just the next step.

A question for the evening: What kept me from deciding today?
