What's on the card
A richly dressed man holds a pair of scales in one hand and gives coins with the other to two beggars kneeling before him. Six pentacles hang above them.
Six of Pentacles upright
The Six of Pentacles is an exchange where help and resources change hands fairly. Sometimes you give, sometimes you receive, and neither is shameful. The scales on the card are a reminder of measure: help as much as you can without hurting yourself. If a friend asks for help with a move, give them a Saturday, and next time ask them for a hand without guilt.
Six of Pentacles reversed
The exchange has tipped: one side only gives, the other only takes, or the help comes with conditions. That kind of imbalance builds resentment. Say out loud what doesn't sit right with you and suggest how to even things out.
Six of Pentacles in love and relationships
For a couple, the Six speaks of mutual care: you both contribute and notice what the other gives. If one of you is tired of giving more, it's time to talk about it. If you're single, you may meet someone who shows interest through actions: helping, turning up on time.
Six of Pentacles in career and money
A good time to ask for a raise, a grant or a mentor's help, and to share your own experience too. Money and knowledge move when people talk about them openly. Check whether your work is fairly paid, and bring a couple of concrete numbers to that conversation.
Six of Pentacles: yes or no
Yes The exchange is fair and support goes both ways. Offer help, and accept it when it's offered to you.
Reversed. Maybe Check whether giving and receiving are in balance. If they aren't, talk about it before you agree.
Six of Pentacles as your card of the day
Help flows both ways today. Help someone with your time or skills, and accept help if it's offered.
Reversed. The exchange is uneven: you give more than you get, or the other way round. That's easy to fix. Notice where it's lopsided and suggest a fairer deal.
A question for the evening: What did I give today, and what did I receive?
Descriptions follow the classic 1909 Waite–Smith deck. Card meanings help you think a situation through and don't replace advice from a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser.
