What's on the card
A man in a red cap tiptoes away from a military camp carrying five swords and looks back over his shoulder. Two swords stay stuck in the ground, and people stand by the tents in the distance.
Seven of Swords upright
The Seven of Swords is about going around things: someone holds back, chooses a trick over an open talk, or tries to carry off more than they can hold. The card can apply to anyone involved, you included. Caught in time, what's left unsaid becomes a reason to clarify the terms. If a contract has a clause nobody explained, ask about it in writing before you sign.
Seven of Swords reversed
What was hidden is coming out, or keeping something back has become hard to bear. Owning up now costs less than explaining later. Speak plainly about your part, and return anything taken without agreement, if there is any.
Seven of Swords in love and relationships
Something in the relationship goes unsaid: a topic both of you avoid, or an expectation nobody has voiced. Check yourself first: what are you keeping quiet about, and why. If you're single, the card suggests skipping the games when you meet someone and being open about your intentions.
Seven of Swords in career and money
The terms may turn out different from how they were described out loud. Write agreements down, keep the correspondence and confirm who is responsible for what. If you're tempted to cut a corner, think through what happens when someone notices.
Seven of Swords: yes or no
No Not in this form: something doesn't add up, and it's good you see it before deciding. Get the terms in writing and ask about what's left unsaid.
Reversed. Maybe The truth is coming out. Be honest about your part and the conversation gets easier.
Seven of Swords as your card of the day
Not everything is said openly today, by you or by others. That shows where trust is thin. Put an important agreement in writing, and don't promise what you don't plan to do.
Reversed. Something hidden is coming out, or your conscience is asking for honesty. Saying it now is easier than later. If something has been left unsaid, tell one truth today, even a small one.
A question for the evening: What did I say honestly today, even though it was hard?
Descriptions follow the classic 1909 Waite–Smith deck. Card meanings help you think a situation through and don't replace advice from a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser.
